Use a pneumatic cylinder device.

【Introduction】As a core pneumatic component, the standard cylinder has stringent requirements for compressed air quality. It must be supplied with clean, dry air, free from corrosive gases, salts, synthetic oils, and organic solvents, to prevent malfunctions of both the cylinder and the pneumatic valves.
【Keywords】 Standard cylinder usage guidelines, pneumatic cylinder air supply requirements, and proper cylinder operating procedures.

Pneumatic components, including a standard cylinder, are essential parts of a pneumatic cylinder to ensure its proper operation and prevent unnecessary malfunctions. Let’s take a look at the use of pneumatic cylinders as pneumatic components.

When using a pneumatic cylinder, air quality must be very high. Use clean, dry compressed air free of organic solvents, synthetic oils, salts, corrosive gases, and other contaminants to avoid internal cylinder malfunctions and valve failures. Before installation, thoroughly purge the connecting pipes to remove dust, chips, and debris from the pipe ends and sealing tape, preventing foreign matter from entering the cylinder and valve.

In areas prone to dust, water droplets, or oil splashes, use a telescopic rod-side protective sleeve; during installation, ensure it is not twisted. Do not use the telescopic protective cover under conditions where water may enter the cylinder or when the cylinder’s dust-sealing integrity is compromised.

Standard cylinders should avoid exposure to mist or moisture that could corrode the sealing rings or cause swelling. Cylinder lubrication should be formulated with appropriate fluidity to provide adequate lubrication; do not rely on pre-lubricated cylinders for long-term use. While such cylinders can be oiled, once the pre-lubricant has been washed away, continued oiling will no longer be effective, potentially leading to adverse changes in cylinder performance.

At the cylinder installation site, prevent drill cuttings from entering the cylinder through the inlet port. Liquid-filled tanks should not be used to prevent leaks. The sliding cylinder and piston rod components should remain undamaged to avoid unintended movement caused by leakage, as well as potential damage to the piston rod seal and other parts.
